Southwest Art Magazine
The April issue
will include an article on Texas painters called "Deep in the
Heart of Texas" that will feature six
signature members of the Outdoor Painters Society. I am
fortunate to be one of them. Each artist will have a page
showing one painting with his/her comments.
Update: the
painting chosen to appear in the article is "Heritage Village".

Western Art
Collector Magazine
April looks to be
a good month! There will also be a feature article on the OPS in
Western Art Collector accompanied by a full page ad that will
include one of my paintings.

Coastal Paintout
Again this year I
will be participating in the annual Port Aransas Coastal Paint
Out. It will be held October 14-16 and should be a lot of fun.
Outdoor
Painters Society
Whenever I can
I like to mention the OPS. It's a group that Bruce Peil and I
started back in 1996. Our objective was to provide incentive and
opportunity to paint outdoors and it has been more successful
than we could ever have imagined. The membership has grown from
an original eight members to around 200. We get together every
month or so to paint (except for a couple of hot Texas summer
months), sometimes for a day, a weekend or a week.
In 2005 the
group was restructured to be more professional (which was the
way many people viewed it anyway) and the next year we hosted
our first major annual exhibition, "Plein Air Texas". In 2009
the show will be called "Plein Air Southwest" and we will exhibit
paintings done in the Grand Canyon, the Ouray/Telluride area of
Colorado, Big Bend National Park and the Texas Hill Country.
Please visit
the
OPS website

artists. |
